Inclusive diffraction and a measurement of the diffractive longitudinal structure function F DL at HERA

Results are reported on recent measurements of the cross section of the diffractive deep-inelastic process ep → eX p using different experimental methods. The longitudinal contribution to the diffractive cross section is shown for the first time.
